E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform)
Hyundai IONIQ 5 is built on Hyundai's proven Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This dedicated battery electric vehicle platform enables faster charging, increased driving range, more interior space and better handling. The battery pack's position ensures ideal weight distribution and enables improved handling performance. Installing the battery under the floor also eliminates the centre tunnel, which results in a perfectly flat floor. This in turn increases leg room and enhances the feeling of openness and roominess throughout.
Modularity to Enable Development Flexibility
The advanced architecture of E-GMP and its modular systems will enable the flexible development of multiple vehicles that cater to diverse customer needs. Further, with the modularity of this platform, multiple high-range battery options can be configured by adding or removing standard battery modules.

Forward collision - avoidance assist - junction turning (FCA-JT)
FCA – JT helps to avoid collison with a vehicle in an adjacent lane, when turning right at a cross road (with turn signal on) by automatically applying brakes.
Forward collision - avoidance assist - cycle (FCA-Cyl)
On detecting the risk of a collision with a cyclist, the driver is alerted about the danger, and if necessary, brakes are automatically applied to help prevent a frontal collision.
Lane keeping assist (LKA)
The system uses the front camera to detect lane drift and provides audio visual warnings. The steering wheel makes adjustment to keep the vehicle in line and avoid collison.
Blind-spot collision - avoidance assist (BCA)
BCA helps to mitigate chances of any collison with vehicles in the rear blind spots by giving warning and then by braking.
Safe exit assist (SEA)
Assist you to exit safely if a vehicle is approaching from the rear while you exit the car.
Lane following assist (LFA)
LFA helps you to keep the car in the center of the lane.
Rear cross - traffic collision - avoidance assist (RCCA)
While reversing your car, if there is oncoming traffic then SmartSense will warn you of incoming traffic. If you miss the warning, then RCCA will automatically apply the brakes to mitigate collison.
